Thread: missing dll

After updating using windows automatic updates my computer now has problems when starting up. I get an error message which says
Erreur ocr aware c\oplimit\oahook.32dll is missing.
I've tried to restore back to a previous date but the system won't restore. Can anyone help please

Could you please give us the complete error message that comes up. Including the precise spelling.

The curent error message you report can not be found. You must have a spelling mistake or a different letter in the error message which is stoping us from helping you with this problem.

The exact error message is as follows:
ERREUR OCR AWARE

Cannot launch ocr aware because [C:\oplimit\oahook32.dll] cannot be loaded. Please check to see if this file exists in the installation directory. If file cannot be located reinstall Omnipage Limited Edition.

i'm not sure what omnipage is, but after searching my files Oplimit relates to Caere applications and when i look in this file I see Acrobat reader.

is this of any help sorting out my problem?

OPLIMIT\ocraware.exe usually comes with a Scanner. It is Optical Character Recognition software.

If you have a scanner attached try reinstalling the software that came with it. Or unplug the scanner from the computer and see if that corrects the problem.

Thankyou I do have a scanner so i'll try reloading the software, will let you know if that works.
