    Default wbemprox.dll error. Help please.

    Hello,

Well starting the other day when I started up my computer an error came up reading,
"The app or DLL C:\windows\system32\wbem\wbemprox.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette." Then just an OK button on the message.

Now this message pops up usually twice.

After I hit OK, another message box pops up with the heading ATI graphics. The message says, "You do not have permission to change CATALYST Control Center settings. Please contact your administrator for further help." Then an OK button.

After all this I try to connect to my wireless internet and it does not work. But I connected it with a wire and the internet works.

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I searched it and things just said to check if that wbemprox.dll is a bad file and replace it but I ran a program and it said it was fine.

    Thanks

Run some of the scans on this website
    http://www.liutilities.com/products/...rary/wbemprox/

Or you could try clicking "Start/run"

Type in sfc /scannow (including the space) and run that (sfc - system file checker) you will probably need a Windows XPCD.

I ran that and it gave me like 70 errors and repaired them. Then when it restarted the messages still appeared.

I was thinking of just trying to replace that wbemprox.dll file with another one to see if it is corrupt or just re-install windows xp because I already tried system restore.

Just google the .dll plenty sites offering a free download.

If that still does not work. a fresh install should.
