    Lightbulb CMOS Checksum Error

    Hi,
During the preliminary stage of booting, before Windows logo appears, I get the following error message :

CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded,
Press F1 to continue , DEL to enter SETUP

When I press F1 Windows is started in a normal fashion except that Date & Time is reset to an earlier point and I have to adjust it each time. The motherboard is ASUS A8N – SLI with Phoenix – Award BIOS V6.00PG and the main processor is AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+.

Can you help to resolve the problem?
    Thanks,
    Pishi

Most likely the battery on your system board is kaput. They are cheap, easy to find at most electronics retailers, and pretty simple to replace.

See here for a guide to replace the battery.
