hi everyone. i'm new to the site and i am frustrated as H*LL right now trying to install Xp on my old computer. i just bought a motherboard to replace a burnt out 754 pin. it is an MSI MS-6741 V.1 with a VIA K8M800 chipset. the problem is it seems to be a refurbished board with an old gateway bios. i can't get the thing to install xp because it doesn't recognize my sata hard drive. i tried to slipstream the correct driver into the installation disc with nLight, but it didn't work. the bios chip is from 1999, but the board has sata ports. it doesn't have a flash utility in bios, and i haven't been able to figure out how to upgrade the bios. i don't want to have to buy an IDE hard drive to get the OS to install.
