    Hi, any joy with the site I linked to?
    I'm almost certain you had to buy a sound card for your
    machine as the onboard chip had gone?
    Be glad of any feedback

    This site has the correct drivers for your onboard sound card:
    http://support.thetechguys.com/layout.aspx?ID={55c8d938-5d1e-42a2-a614-88206793ebad}&CatID={ea7a922d-7f1b-4ae4-ae55-6d5b859440bb}

    Try installing it and see if it works, If not as Fabler said a cheap sound card is the best option, they are easily installed and come with the drivers required to get the sound back up and working.
