'Oh my!! I hope I don't run in to that!!! I did find a manual uninstaller in the Comodo user help forum and had to use that to get things sorted on this machine'
No, latest Comodo works fine on both Vista and XP.
Firewalls only working on inbound are fine (for me so far) as I also run a broadband checker that shows download and upload traffic.

Fabler .. while I agree with your description of Comodo (A nagging mother in law) I find it reassuring that MY firewall alerts me to possible problems. I used Norton for a long time (and paid for it each year) .. told me nothing .... missed 3 viruses and uninstalling it was my computer experience of the year.
Comodo can be a pain, but it is Free and a bloody good program to boot.

Well, it took a couple of reboots and fiddling with the startup in msconfig, but everything seems to be okay - well, we will see.......
BTW Anyone know what swearware is? I've got clean scans from MBAM, SAS and Comodo AV. Just curious.

Swearware, could be something to do with Combofix?
Ferret, Comodo is good but tends to hog my system a bit with Defence+ etc. Pc Tools firewall started to freeze some programs and other firewalls I didn't like the interfaces. I havent had any viruses or trojans for a long time either but not sure if that is up to a firewall or other defence programs or simply commonsense surfing.
I'm trying out with Windows' own firewalls for a time and will see how it goes.
