    Angry Problem with two XP installations

    I installed windows XP on two different hard drives, but have since removed one hard drive. But now on startup it still gives a choice between the two O/S, after a few seconds selecting the one that doesn't exist anymore. This results in a black screen with nothing.

    How can I remove this selection and boot the remaining XP installation by default?

    I seem to recall something from even pre XP days when a line in boot.ini could be removed. Am I thinking along the right lines?
