    Default Desktop problem

Im pretty stupid when it comes to things about computers.
i know a little bit but this is just beyond me i dont know if its a hardware problem software problem or what.

But i reformatted and reinstalled Windows xp Home SP2 due to virus problem, sumhow got a virus and it $#@^#@ over my computer and i wasnt able to access internet, download nearly anything, or even system restore... so i reinstalled the windows and thought that i will just start all over again,

but wen i tried to set up internet nothing would work...still... i went to device manager and said that everything was working except: Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, RAID Controller, RAID Controller.

They all show yellow bubble with exclamation mark in them and i try update, reinstall and watever but i cant cause no internet... i have no othr CDs other than the windows xp home SP2 disk.

i know my computer works with my internet cause it was working... before the virus.
i dont know much about the desktop because my dad is the person who gave it to me and always messed with it.

    Hi Novak.

A very common error, and loads of people make it, Re-installing Windows and then finding you have problems because you didn`t have a backup of the drivers for your hardware.

Window does its best to install generic drivers to cover the hardware on board but normally that in its self is not enough. We need to know as much information about your computer as possible (Make - Model No of computer ... same for the modem (Is it internal or external) ... type & make of sound card onboard or installed). If we can find most of this information, we can help you search for the correct drivers and get you up and running again.

To find most of this information you would be better to download something like PCWizard:
CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

You can use any computer to download this ... on to a Pen/Thumb drive and run it on your computer from that (No need to install it ... just use it from the Thumbdrive). The above site gives you all the info for using PCWizard (Pretty easy really). So once you get the info about your computer, post it back on the Forum and we can start to help you.
