Default Underline
I use XL Professional and Word 2003

Whenever I open either word or Microsoft Outlook I find that the U (For Underline) is pressed which is quite a nuiscance as it means that EVERYTHING that I type comes out underlined, so I have to then Ün-Underline it!

There must be some way in which I can stop this happening and go back to where it was before, where I made the choice, either Underline or don't Underline?

Please Help! Please.

It could be that your "Normal.dot" template was somehow modified to include underline. Your problem may go away if you modify your normal template to get rid of the underline.

Someone who uses Word 2003 and Outlook might be able to give you the exact steps, but it's really easy. If you open Word, click on Help and search for templates. It will tell you how to determine your file locations and how to modify templates. Remember, documents usually end in "doc" while templates usually end in "dot". The Outlook problem is linked to your Word template. There is an option in Outlook to use Word as your default editor and you obviously have that selected. Sorry I can't be of more help, but if you do a little investigative work, you'll solve your problem easily.
